About Emily

Emily provides strategic communications support to clients – from handling book promotion outreach to setting up media tours to organizing Hill events to planning media logistics for 80 national and local outlets to cover a convention.

She handles issue areas as diverse as college access and financial literacy, the political landscape in the U.S., and economic development in Africa.

Emily received her M.B.A. from Mercy College in 2015, where she also worked as an advisor supporting the success of first generation undergraduate students. Her thesis examined opportunities and marketing strategies to increase access to study abroad programs for low income students.

Prior to joining Ward Circle Strategies, Emily interned at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute where she helped to facilitate and assess retirement and second career programing for outgoing diplomats and civil servants.

Emily received her B.A. in International Studies from American University in 2013. As an undergrad, she served as a peer mentor to students in the School of International Service and represented AU at the 2013 National Conference on Undergraduate Research where she presented original research on ending harmful traditional practices in sub-Saharan Africa.

3 Fun Facts

  • Like any true Michigander, Emily can show you a detailed map of the Mitten State by pointing on her hand.
  • Between swimming, sailing, and SCUBA diving, Emily feels so comfortable in the water, she might be part fish (which is her excuse for not eating seafood).
  • Emily was inspired to study international relations while planting trees on a mountain in Ecuador. How’s that for a “how did you pick your major” story?
